Keara phillips-berlin

I'm Keara, and I've been a hobby artist and sculptor for many years, but began making pottery in 2006. After years of occasional lessons, trying out different techiques and trying to find my best fit as a potter, I now specialize in small batch stoneware and porcelain pottery, with an emphasis on nature, whimsy, and fantasy themes. As a "handbuild" potter, my functional ware almost exclusively starts out as textured slab, which I then alter. My work tends toward whimsical shapes, rich colors, lots of texture and is often quite sculptural. I love making miniatures and small sculpture, as well as experimenting with new texture tools and methods, often using found objects or architectural salvage to create fun surface effects.
